Tobii’s Analytical Use License requires compliance with Tobii’s policies for user privacy. Tobii grants Analytical Use Licenses after reviewing the application’s implementation of these policies. Please contact Tobii if you are interested in obtaining an Analytical Use License.
We require the following to be implemented in the application:
- User Consent: The application needs to use a consistent format to explicitly and clearly ask for user consent for analytical use of eye tracking data. The user consent ask needs to happen before the application is started. It also needs to state the purpose of storing/transferring eye tracking data. And it needs to state that the data will not be used for any other purpose.
- Visualization: The application needs to visualize when analysis is ongoing (when storing or transferring of eye tracking data is occurring). Unless a mechanism for visualization is provided from Tobii, the application needs to provide it. This is required unless explicitly waived by Tobii.
We recommend the following to be implemented in the application:
- The “What’s in it for me” policy: Clearly inform users about the value they receive from the application. This is essentially about giving the user clear a motivation about why they should provide her/his eye tracking data.
Please note that implementation of policies may vary between different categories of products. For screen based products, a window like the below is recommended for the User Consent and “What’s in it for me” policy.
